Without You
The light is pink,
And flowers glitter in red
I sit in a comfortable chair
trying to fill my empty heart
It’s the middle of the day
So I am half relaxed half tired
I wait for the poem to come
And for someone to fill the next chair
I can see couples arriving with smile
And the performers preparing their piece.
But…I still can’t see you
Still away still hidden, you
I have to wait and believe in fate
Because one day you shall arrive
So I wait for the poem
But not for someone to fill the next chair
I float in the rhythm of words
And sink in the ocean of my feelings
Let the day pass like this
With you without you.
I feel not alone as time progresses
Because now I can revel in the verses
Which take my soul from me to you.
I listen to the heartbroken legends
Who speak of my feelings in their words
I love the music of songs on love,
And the poems full of rhythmic chords
What all they make me think of is you
Still away still hidden, you
The show ends here
With a handful of memories to bear
My stomach sank
My heart ached a little
But I didn’t break, how could I
It was getting late for me
The night was looming over empty roads
I wish I could stay there some more
But it would not make any difference, no way.
So I lifted my bag and left the room
Consoling myself, ‘one day you shall arrive.’
