When it comes to pick a self help book, one can expect it to a repetition of the same ideas, methodologies and concepts presented in a slightly different way. So when anyone reads a self help book, most of it is already known or read which scrapes away the reader’s interest.

But the book – Leadership Success, the real way by Biju Michael is different. The difference comes from the fact that not only the content is very striking and terse, the emphasis is on the work and values of Jesus Christ.

Here are some highlights which justify why one should read this book:

– How to set your goals. Think of a mountaineer. He has a long way to go. There are no giant steps. It is just one little step at a time. He sets a goal for each day, each expedition.

– Visualization. Major James was an ordinary golf player with a desire to improve his game. But he was sent to jail for seven years as a prisoner of war. During this period, he never set a foot on a golf field, completely out of the game. But as he returned to golf, he shot an unbelievable 74 in his first game! A terrific improvement! How did this happen?

Goals must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timescale)

– Reasons for failures. The biggest danger to goal achievement is concluded to be procrastination, a silent killer. Distraction is another enemy.

– How to prepare yourself for opportunities and work in a smart manner.

While there are countess parables and examples smartly packed in a small book, the best one liner I found in the book was

“The most beautiful dress you can put on is a smile. It is always attractive and never becomes outdated”.

My personal rating for the book
