The cycle goes on

Sometimes, writing the pages of my diary over and over every day, it dawns on me, ‘might not it be better to just copy and paste last day’s page?’ An ingenious idea that chimes with the inescapable monotony of life!

Only a few people who dare to unleash the ties of a mechanical routine could have something rocking and adventurous each day. Left behind are most of us people, who, meandering through what we call necessities of life, job for example, keep dreaming about a day off with friends or lover to go to favorite places, eat in expensive restaurants, take risks to invest in newly discovered ideas to earn experiences and taste the dangers of life. This way, they might feel a little alive!

But they, are in reality never able to break free from the ties, they have been entangled with – Job, which gobbles down almost whole of their day. Then comes, the family for which they pretend to be doing the job, which is a lie because they do so in order to comply with what it takes to mingle with the crowd of monotonous lives and get a reputation in the society for working in a decent firm. Then comes, the dreams which are still restrained, because they are centered at but one thing ‘job’ – to get more money, to get timely promotion, to invest in a scheme which fetches higher interest than others, to become the next boss, or to open one’s own company and rule the world…

And then there is no turning back, never until ‘retirement’ after which the frail body is capable of only pondering over the forgotten dreams, (now not centered at Job) and further regretting for never having manifested any of them into reality ever, such as going out for a long vacation in Europe, opening one’s own hotel at a hill station and spend a fortune over expensive clothes, going for dance classes, learning exquisite cooking, creating a website for listening to problems of people.

Time flows so fast. Seconds transform into minutes, minutes into hours, hours into days, then months, and then years until we realize our life span has almost reached its expiry. And before we could realize, we find ourselves approaching that decided, yet unknown point of death on the mere mercy of our children, the part of the family, or we can say, one of the knots which held us occupied all the life.

This way, the cycle of life goes on, we don’t let our parents live their life and our children don’t let us, though unconsciously. This is how,

So get up and take yourself out of the traps that are stopping you.
