Synopsis: Romantic Short Stories on Dating on WordsAllMine. A tale of a romantic day of a who travel across the city of Hydrabad.

We met after a long break. I was in my car waiting for her at Ahmedabad central bus stop. It was as if the time had stopped when I saw my beautiful angel appearing in a decent maroon top and blue jeans perfectly adorning her slim physique. Her silver long earrings would swing whenever she moved her face. And the minuscule layer of lip gloss would glitter whenever the sunlight would fall upon her beautiful lips.  I was so lost in her, that I could not hear the roaring horns of the aggressive traffic behind me.

She sat in, and gave a cold expression enough to feign her annoyance for being so late and getting her worried for more than an hour. I pulled her cheeks and said sorry for the heavy traffic which got me late. With her smile, I drove the car towards Navrangpura crossing the beautiful Sabarmati river. (It was her idea to avoid the risk of getting caught by any aquaintance in Khadia, Ahmedabad  – her residence).

As we proceeded, the road started looking beautiful surrounded by dense trees, on both sides. It was so pleasant to be away from the hustle and bustle of the noisy city life for a while with my love. Nothing could be more soothing than this. As I told her that I daily travel through the same road, she quipped- How lucky!

I looked at her while driving at the same time. I like to see her this way – sitting beside me. Suddenly something rushed in her mind that she tied her dupatta on my arm.  With the smooth belt of her shrug, she bound my left arm, and pulled it a little towards her.

But our destination had arrived. I took her to Havmor restaurant. As we entered it, we found it so homely there. It was not only the place which was so damned good, the food as well. It’s worth to mention that the ‘Chhole puri’ was so heavenly that I would never forget its taste and chill. I literally devoured it, when she started hurling allegations on me! I smiled and put a small bite in her mouth, and the next moment, she also started gulping the food. And we ended fighting over every bite.

As we came back, I started feeling like driving for the rest of the day so as to be with her for a little more. And so, we headed towards Bajrangpura (around 100Kms away). It was my idea to touch its boundary and come back.

It was not less than an irony that I, who never dared go to a nearby restaurant with a friend in college went on a long drive with her. The road of the empty highway seemed to be running. Soon, I showed her the green stretches of grass sideways. We were pacing towards the strange land, strange roads we had never travelled.

At 5, as decided, I took a U-turn towards her place. Perhaps weather too understood our vibrations. In no time, the sun was covered with black heavy clouds and wind started blowing. By the time, we reached the toll, it started raining – heavily.

We opened our windows to the extent that we could feel the wetness of the rain on our face, after which I asked her to close the window otherwise the water accumulated on the roads could splash on our faces.

When I would talk to her, and play with her hair, she would rebuke, “No sudden moves on highway”. But then something happened, which was completely unexpected. Whether it was the rush of adrenaline inside or the rain outside, or something else – unknown, that I grabbed her neck, pulled towards me and kissed her on lips. My heart beat ran high perhaps more than the speed of the car – 80kmph!  Someone needs to be really passionate and a little crazy to do that. That happened so sudden that I could not believe for a while that it was real. She blushed at my sudden pounce, when I was still trying to figure out what was that!!!

After a while, rain stopped, but it all seemed so nice, so beautiful, so cold, and pleasant. We were once again on the same roads we had travelled so many times before. It felt so homely and protected. And taking her to a tea stall gave it more flavour.

There, in the parking, only one car was parked. We walked for a while on the road and had tea inside the car, in the rainy weather, in the cold evening.

Now we were heading towards her home. Evening full of fun was turning to silent bland night. Sun was setting beneath the horizon, the day was going to end and it all meant going away from my princess.

The roads were shining by reflection of street lights on the water. And inside the car, in the dark, we were talking to each other through the song – “hothon se chhulo tum, mera geet amar kardo”. The most striking line of the song was –

“Na umr ki seema ho, na janmo ka ho bandhan, Jab pyar kare koi, toh dekhe keval mann…”

She was holding my arm tight and leaning over my shoulder while I was driving and singing with the song. It was the perfect moment of the day when we found ourselves falling in love once more.

And for the same reason, I wanted to be with her for some more time, but I had to be responsible and sensible to drop her home on time as well. Unfortunately, when I was close to her stop, we got stuck in the traffic jam. We couldn’t make out what’s the matter.

And it was when I made the perfect use of that opportunity by taking her to an ice-cream parlor where we enjoyed a yummy mixed-fruits ice-cream. Now, I saw her even more happy. By that time, the traffic had also swept away after which I dropped her home.

But I still felt her with me on the seat besides, laughing with her lips glittering whenever the street lights would fall upon her lips. And her earrings were still dancing as her face moved.
