Rain
The soft rainy sky
Engulfs the morning in its blue
The light cotton drops fall
Slowly and smoothly
Like an elixir of pain
On the dust-laden heart
Clenched in abundant doubts
Beating to absorb
All the waters of life
The wind stirs everything
From leaves to clouds
Enforcing the moment of change
Upon the somnolent beings
Their heads turn upward
Making silent conversations
With the showering firmament
Some complaining
Some acknowledging
Some singing and dancing
Soon the canvas of earth and sky
Once painted in monsoon colors
Is exposed to the sunlight
The heat comes back
And the water dries
The wind stops
Bringing everything to rest
The somnolent beings
Sleep again
And the heart keeps beating
In hope for the next rain
