It’s the feeling of guilt which engulfs you the very morning because you woke up late. Last night, the 12 am call that lasted for an hour did a big obtrusion with the sleep ofcourse. Still, being late for any reason is not an option. You get up rubbing your red bleary eyes and hope to look good peeking into the mirror. Not done. The beep on the phone takes all attention. You are really late, so late that even your rockstar looks are not going to do any good to you. So, you take a deep sigh, telling yourself to calm down and check the message on the phone.
“I am waiting for you at the Airport”. That is all. It’s finished. But you have to try that which is possible at the moment.
Without a second thought, you rush to the washroom. Any more waste of time is not permitted. So, in the bath robe, you ask your chauffeur to drive the car while you take all of your clothing and a bottle of perfume with you.
There in the backseat, you have the time and space to ready for the date. It’s a special day. And at the same time, it’s embarrassing to change the clothes when the chauffer seems to snicker in the rear view mirror. Maybe, he finds it funny. But it’s no more so for you. Because the gift is still unplanned. And you are already late!
While you close the buttons of your immaculate white shirt, you have to use your genius to its best to think of a really impressive and yes, a quick present. It’s when all your creative energy ceases to exist when there’s a long string of messages piling up on your phone. She must be desperate to know when would you reach, while you couldn’t afford to reply.

It’s so much panic that your body shivers. The throat dries and you call out for the Chauffer’s help. Afterall, his rash driving with precise sense of timings saved you a hell lot of trouble. But, he too fails to fetch you any good idea of a gift.
The airport arrives where you get down with empty hands and uncombed hair. She comes over, with tears of remorse, grief and anger, lots of. She just missed her flight.
Yes she did, because you were late. And there is nothing to rectify it, apart from giving in to the situation. And words, you know their uselessness since the very time you fell into the situation. She turns around, about to recede with a broken heart and phone. You broke the former and she broke the later!
It’s when; you do what you wanted to without any second thoughts. You run behind her, grab her by the waist. Her expressions are nondescript and grim. Before she is about to push you away, you place a real heavy kiss on her lips.
You did it. Yes, in a public place, for the first time. People feigned the looks of awe and cheer which made the spotted couple blush. And this fitted well into the situation. It always does in the end. An unplanned gift began the day all over again with her sweet smile, leaving you to cherish the unexpected togetherness.
